Hyderabad police form special teams to probe meat found in temple in old city

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad police have formed special teams to find the suspects behind the pieces of meat found at a temple in Tappachabutra in the old city on Wednesday.

Tension prevailed at the communally sensitive Tappachabutra area after the local people found pieces of meat in the temple. Alleging it as a conspiracy to desecrate the temple, several locals and BJYM leaders staged a protest since morning. The protest was called off after police assured to solve the case at the earliest.

Additional Commissioner of Police (law and order) Vikram Singh Mann, inspected the temple premised and spoke to the local police officials. He said teams were working to find out how the meat pieces surfaced in the temple.

Teams of local police and Task Force are checking the footages of closed circuit cameras to gather some clues.
