Hyderabad: City Police Commissioner CV Anand said the City Police was geared up for forthcoming festivals including Holi, Sri Rama Navami and Hanuman Jayanthi. Station House Officers were instructed to keep surveillance on trouble-mongers, communal offenders and rowdy sheeters.

The Commissioner has been maintaining the old custom of visiting the Purani Haveli every Friday and has a group lunch with officers. As part of this, he inspected various places in West Zone and made a surprise visit to the Mangalhat, Kulsumpura and Habeebnagar police stations.

Speaking to the media, Anand said the Sub-inspectors who reported to the City Police from districts were being guided by divisional and zonal level officials to tune them into metropolitan policing.

He examined facilities and records in the stations and interacted with the officials.
