In the video, Ratnakar Reddy, the home guard, currently working at the SR Nagar police station, is seen loosening the manja in which the bird got entangled and was hanging from a tree on the roadside near Siddharthanagar. On seeing the bird in a pathetic condition, unable to flap its wings, Reddy, a Blue Colts personnel who was on the rounds with his colleague, Syed Pasha, rushed to its rescue.

It is suspected that the bird suffered injuries to the neck, legs and wings, but was still able to move. The video shows Reddy holding the bird and patiently untangling the sharp manja from its body. Within a few minutes of being rescued, the bird flew off.

Reddy is being appreciated for his compassion and his efforts.
