Hyderabad police invoke PD Act against notorious rowdy-sheeter Mohd Asad

Hyderabad Police have invoked the Preventive Detention Act against alleged repeat offender Mohd Asad, who is accused of multiple crimes, including murder. Despite being externed from the city, he allegedly returned, prompting police to trace and apprehend him in Maharashtra.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad police have invoked the Preventive Detention (PD) Act against notorious rowdy sheeter Mohd Asad, who is allegedly involved in multiple criminal cases, including murder.

The Hyderabad police had earlier issued orders externing him from the city for a period of one year. However, during the externment period, he allegedly re-entered the city and vandalised a shop on Kalapather Road.

Following his repeated involvement in criminal activities and his alleged role in maintaining a criminal gang, Hyderabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar issued orders to detain him under the Preventive Detention Act for a period of one year.

After the detention orders were issued, the Balapur police launched efforts to trace Mohd Asad, who was suspected to be moving around Nizamabad.

According to sources, acting on specific information, a team from the Kalapather police tracked him down to Nanded in the neighbouring State of Maharashtra and reportedly apprehended him.
