Hyderabad: The Hyderabad police have launched a massive operation to nab a gang of cattle thieves who have been stealing cattle from Secunderabad during the night.

Rashmi Perumal, DCP (North), said that following complaints of a gang moving around in a car and stealing cattle in Secunderabad, a case was registered.

“The professional gang was forcefully putting the cattle into a modified car and taking it away at night. A case was booked and special teams were formed to nab the offenders,” said Rashmi Perumal.

The police said that last year, a gang involved in similar thefts was arrested. “The gang identified stray cattle on the roads and was stealing them at night,” said Additional DCP Task Force, A Srinivas Rao.
