Hyderabad: The Rachakonda Central Crime Station police nabbed a member of an interstate burglary gang involved in 41 cases at Abdullapurmet on Friday. Police recovered gold and silver ornaments, two bikes and gadgets, altogether worth Rs.23.8 lakh.
The arrested person was Shaik Yamin alias Saleem (39), a construction worker from Shadnagar. Three other suspects, Osman from Maharashtra, Laxman from Nizamabad Town and an unidentified accomplice of Osman, were absconding.
According to the police, Yamin started committing burglaries 11 years ago. He was arrested several times earlier, including in a rape case in Nirmal and was jailed. On being released, he resumed burglaries, Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat said, adding that he was involved in 85 offences across the State.
