Hyderabad: Police officer injured in stone pelting during group clash
Police said the incident occurred when the cow vigilant group who allegedly stopped a vehicle carrying a cow started arguing and beating those transporting it.
Hyderabad: Mild tension prevailed at Karmanghat in Vanasthalipuram, after allegedly a cow vigilant group clashed with members of a community on Tuesday midnight. A Sub-inspector was injured in the incident.
Police said the incident occurred when the cow vigilant group who allegedly stopped a vehicle carrying a cow started arguing and beating those transporting it.
The incident soon turned into a clash between two groups, who started pelting stones on each other.
Vanasthalipuram SI Madhava Reddy who rushed to the spot, sustained injuries on his head, when a stone fell on him.
Later he was shifted to a private hospital in Kanchanbagh and being treated.
Vanasthalipuram police said additional force was deployed immediately and situation was taken into control.
” We have setup a police picket at the area and the situation is normal now,” said an official.
The Vanasthalipuram police are investigating. Those involved in the clashes were identified and efforts are on to arrest them.
