Hyderabad: The City Police went on high alert following the attack on Hyderabad MP Asadudddin Owaisi at Chhajarsi toll plaza near Delhi on Thursday afternoon.
Senior police officials held a meeting with all officers of the five zones in Hyderabad and sensitive areas in Rachakonda and Cyberabad commissionerates.
All Inspectors were instructed to organise intensified patrolling and maintain a close watch on developments. All the officers were asked to stay in the police stations during the night and move around their respective jurisdiction to prevent any untoward incident.
Additional police forces were rushed to a few police stations in the city to reinforce the bandobast. Police pickets were set up at a few important junctions and points to deal with any protest.
In a few districts, including Adilabad, Karimnagar and Nizamabad too, the police were put on high alert. Senior officials also reviewed security allotted to all AIMIM legislators.
