Hyderabad: The Nampally police have sought opinion from the fire and the power departments to ascertain the causes that led to the fire at the Forensic Science Laboratory, Telangana, located at Red Hills.
A fire broke out at the building on Saturday, damaging the computer cyber forensic laboratory and its related cabins, the conference hall, and library.
The Nampally police had registered a case following a complaint made by the FSL on Saturday and sealed the rooms where the fire broke out. Over 40 computers and other equipment kept in the cyber forensic laboratory were damaged due to the fire.
Shikha Goel, Director FSL, maintained that most of the data was retrieved by the experts during the last two days. A few wings of the FSL are temporarily operating from the new building located behind the old FSL building.
“After getting the reports from different agencies, we will reach a conclusion on the cause of the fire. At this stage, we cannot comment on the cause of the fire,” said a senior official of Hyderabad police.
