Hyderabad: The Hyderabad police have started a detailed enquiry into the “smear campaign” targeting the High Court Justice Madhavi Devi by some vested interest on social media platforms.

Justice Madhavi Devi, on Thursday during the hearing of Sai Bageerath case had expressed her anguish over the social media campaign targeting her. She said that she was “deeply pained by the smear campaign on social media.”

“The Cyber-crime unit and the Task Force are conducting a detailed enquiry into it. Both the teams are coordinating and identifying the persons,” said a senior official of Hyderabad police.

Justice Madhavi Devi, had heard the ‘interim bail’ petition filed by Sai Bageerath in the POCSO case registered against him at Petbasheerabad police station.

The victim’s mother had lodged a complaint against Sai Bageerath on May 8, following which a case was registered.
