Hyderabad: The City Police have intensified preparations for the proposed one-way traffic system around KBR Park, with senior police and GHMC officials conducting a joint field inspection on Wednesday to review infrastructure works and measures aimed at easing congestion while ensuring pedestrian safety.

Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar, Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) D Joel Davis, GHMC Commissioner RV Karnan and other senior officials walked nearly 5 km around KBR Park between 7 am and 9 am.

The team inspected key junctions, including Agrasen Junction, Film Nagar, Journalist Colony, Jubilee Hills Road No 45, Jubilee Hills Check Post, and the KBR Park main entrance.

Officials reviewed traffic movement and assessed issues noticed during the recent trial run of the proposed one-way system under the H-City project. Narrow road stretches identified as bottlenecks during peak hours will be widened, with GHMC officials directed to take up the works immediately.

Sajjanar said the review was aimed at ensuring all departments complete the required infrastructure before the one-way system is introduced.

He further directed officials to expedite pending civil works and stressed the importance of installing clear lane markings and pelican signals to enhance pedestrian safety.

He also instructed construction agencies to speed up ongoing development works around the park.
