Hyderabad police team heads to UP to nab Koti robbers
Hyderabad police have launched a manhunt for a two-member gang that shot and injured a businessman at a Koti ATM and looted Rs. 6 lakh. A special police team has left for Uttar Pradesh to apprehend the suspects
Hyderabad: A special team of the Hyderabad police has left for Uttar Pradesh to nab the two-member gang of robbers who shot and injured a businessman at Koti and looted Rs. 6 lakh from him on Saturday.
The businessman, Rinshad, came to the State Bank of India ATM centre at Bank Street with cash of Rs. 6 lakh when the two robbers approached him and fired two rounds. A bullet hit Rinshad on the leg and, in the melee, the robbers snatched away the cash bag containing Rs. 6 lakh and escaped.
The robbers then headed to Kachiguda and changed their clothes. The duo later headed towards the Srisailam highway in an auto rickshaw. Police teams checked closed circuit camera footage en route and found that the gang moved around the city throughout the day before escaping.
The police took into custody one person who had provided shelter to the robbers. Based on the information provided by him, a police team left for Uttar Pradesh. The team will coordinate with the UP police to apprehend the suspects.
