Hyderabad police take drug abuse awareness campaign to OU Arts College

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad city police took its drug abuse awareness campaign to the historic Osmania University Arts College building on Sunday with a ‘Drug Abuse Awareness Walk’.
Hyderabad Police Commissioner, Anjani Kumar, OU Vice Chancellor, Prof. D Ravinder, Amberpet legislator, Kaleru Venkatesh and others participated in the walk which also saw good a attendance of the university students.
Addressing the gathering, Anjani Kumar said that a statewide a campaign “Say No to Ganja, Say No to Drugs” is being carried out to wean the youth away from drugs. He said the police along with other departments are organizing awareness while also taking up enforcement drives to curb the transport, sale and use of drugs across the state. He said that though compared to other states, the use of drugs is lesser in Telangana, the police however are working hard to further reduce the instances of use of drugs.
Anjani Kumar asked the students to stay away from drugs and contribute in building a safe and secure society.
Prof.Ravinder, said there is a help centre at Psychology Department in the university and anyone who is affected due to drug abuse can seek help. He said the university will take up awareness campaign regularly against drug abuse in the campus.
Other senior police officials also participated in the event.
