A private school bus caught fire at Mailardevpally while returning from dropping students. The driver escaped safely, and fire officials doused the blaze. The bus was completely gutted, with a short circuit suspected as the cause, under investigation

Hyderabad: A school bus caught fire at Mailardevpally in the city on Wednesday evening.

The bus belonging to a private school was on its way back after dropping off the students when the driver noticed smoke in the bus. Soon, the driver jumped out of the vehicle and the fire broke out in the bus.

On information, a fire tender from nearby fire station reached the spot and doused the fire. The bus was completely gutted in the fire incident.

The fire officials suspect, the fire might have started due to a short circuit in the bus. However, they are investigating to ascertain the exact cause that led to the fire.
