Hyderabad: Hyderabad qualified for the knock-out phase of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy T20 cricket championship despite losing to Chandigarh by four wickets in the final round match at Salt Lake Cricket Ground in Kolkata on Monday.
Batting first, Hyderabad scored 146 for eight in 20 overs with P Aman Rao (33) and Pragnay Reddy (43) being the top scorers, while Jagjit Singh (3/36) bowled well for Chandigarh.
In reply, Chandigarh achieved the target with four wickets in hand and a ball to spare, with Arjun Azad (63) and B Shivam (42) being the main scorers.
Hyderabad made it to the knock-out phase with five wins and topped the table with 20 points.
The scores: At Kolkata: Hyderabad 146/8 in 20 overs (P Aman Rao 33, Pragnay Reddy 43, Jagjit Singh 3/36) lost to Chandigarh 147/6 in 19.5 overs (Arjun Azad 63, B Shivam 42).
