Hyderabad: The Rachakonda Police Special Operations Team along with the Jawaharnagar police busted a fake railway job racket and arrested two persons on Monday. Police said the suspects promised jobs to nearly 100 aspirants and cheated them of Rs.10 crore.

Police seized Rs.9 lakh; two cars, fake appointment letters, cheque books and other material from the arrested persons, P Bhaskar (57), a civil contractor from Karkhana currently residing in New Delhi and K Ritesh Kumar (41), a realtor from Secunderabad. Six suspects, Ashok Singhal, Deepak Sinha, AK Saxena, Devendar Mishra, K.Ravindra and Barkhat Ali, are absconding.
According to the police, Bhaskar had contacts in the Railway Recruitment Board and thus plotted to dupe youngsters by promising jobs in the Railways.

“Bhaskar and his associates collected original education certificates of aspirants and issued fake offer letters, medical memos and appointment orders. The gang collected huge money from them. When pressure mounted on them, they went absconding,” Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat said, adding that the victims approached the Delhi Police and filed a complaint.

Bhaskar, on knowing that he was under police radar shifted to Mumbai and often came to Hyderabad, where he gathered 16 students by promising them jobs in Railways and the Food Corporation of India.

“Students, mostly from Hyderabad, Jawaharnagar and Karimnagar were his victims. He collected about Rs.93.5 lakh from them and issued fake appointment orders and identity cards,” Bhagwat said.

With the duped money, Bhaskar spent a lavish life by purchasing costly cars and living in luxurious hotels. The gang had duped job aspirants to the tune of Rs.10 crore from people in Hyderabad, Delhi, Chennai, and West Bengal, police said, adding that Bhaskar was earlier involved in cheating people in the guise of selling panchaloha idols and rice pulling devices.
