Hyderabad rains: Cops warn against old flood videos

Ever since heavy rains have been lashing the city, videos of the floods from last year have been making rounds on social media.

Hyderabad: The Rachakonda Police have warned mischief mongers against circulating old videos of flash floods claiming those to be from Wednesday night in the city.

“People are warned against spreading such rumours or circulating old videos which are resulting in panic and fear among the public. The authenticity of videos or posts needs to be verified before sharing,” an official said, adding that legal action would be taken against such mischief mongers.

“The local police are coordinating with the GHMC, Revenue, Irrigation and other departments concerned and monitoring the situation,” the official added.
