Hyderabad: Following the heavy rains that lashed the city on Saturday, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) deployed its monsoon and Disaster Response Force (DRF) teams to attend to complaints from different parts of the city including Mansoorabad, Nagole, Chintalkunta and P&T Colony in LB Nagar Zone.
The civic body engineers also visited localities in the vicinity of Ayyappa Colony Cheruvu and Banjara Colony. These areas were among the worst affected when the city received heavy rains earlier this month.
Meanwhile, the DRF teams attended to complaints and cleared water logging on roads, catch pits and nala blockages, removed fallen tree branches and also helped people cross waterlogged stretches in some places.
To ensure better grievance redressal, engineers of the maintenance wing and staffers deployed with GHMC’s command control room were asked to be on the alert by Mayor G Vijaya Laxmi. To report grievances, people were asked to contact GHMC by dialling 040 21111 111 or 040-29555500 for DRF assistance.
