Hyderabad: Hyderabad received light showers in several areas on Friday. According to officials at the India Meteorological Department, Hyderabad, the depression over the southwest Bay of Bengal has resulted in the rains in the city. The maximum temperature recorded in the city on Friday was 27.7 degree Celsius, while the minimum temperature was 22 degree Celsius.
Several localities in the city, from Saroornagar, Hayathnagar and Charminar to Asifnagar, Uppal, Shaikpet and Bahadurpura, witnessed light showers upto 3.5 mm. Kukatpally received the highest rainfall of 4.5 mm in the morning. Although the city was blanketed in a thick cloud cover, the sun was visible around the afternoon hours. Though a yellow alert was issued on Thursday, the same has been withdrawn for Saturday and Sunday.
According to data recorded at various Automatic Weather Stations (AWS) by Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS), most parts of the city might receive rainfall up to 2.5 mm on Saturday. However, the central and southern parts of Hyderabad — including LB Nagar, Charminar, Uppal, Rajendranagar, Falaknuma, Saroornagar and Hayathnagar — might receive up to 15.6 mm of rainfall. The forecast includes light rainfall upto 2.5 mm in most parts of the city on Sunday. The maximum temperature in the city is likely to be between 30 degree Celsius to 32 degree Celsius; whereas the minimum temperature will be in the range of 21 to 23 degree Celsius.
Meanwhile, a few districts also received light showers on Friday. Addagudur in Yadadri Bhongir received the highest rainfall of 9.5 mm. As per IMD-H, districts including Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Yadadri Bhongir, Rangareddy, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet and Jogulamba Gadwal are very likely to receive moderate rainfall accompanied with lightning for the next few days.
