Hyderabad: Repeat offender nabbed with 4.1 kg marijuana at Secunderabad Railway Station
GRP and RPF officers arrested 21-year-old Shaik Waheed at Secunderabad Railway Station and seized 4.1 kg of marijuana worth over Rs 2 lakh. A repeat offender, he sourced ganja from Maharashtra. Police are now tracing his suppliers and network.
Hyderabad: The Secunderabad Government Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Protection Force (RPF) jointly nabbed a drug peddler and seized about 4.1 kg of marijuana worth over Rs 2 lakh at Secunderabad Railway Station on Monday.
The arrested suspect, Shaik Waheed (21), who is a bike mechanic from Lalapet, is a repeat drug offender and was previously involved in cases in Lalaguda and Tukaramgate Police Stations.
According to the police, after his recent release from prison, Waheed resumed illegal activities by procuring marijuana at cheaper rates from Maharashtra and selling it to customers in Hyderabad.
He was caught during the intensified checks conducted by GRP and RPF teams.
The GRP officials are investigating the case and efforts are on to identify his suppliers and potential network involved in interstate drug trafficking.
