Hyderabad: Room to Read (RtR) India which initiated a nationwide campaign #HarKadamBetiKeSang: Leadership Ki Tarang 2021, has reached out to adolescent girls of RtR’s Girls’ Education Programme, teachers and Girls of Girls’ Education programme, parents and caregivers and government stakeholders, in Telangana.
Focused on intensifying community engagement by integrating the national campaign into a State-level back-to-school campaign, the campaign had RtR team disseminating campaign materials via WhatsApp to all the Girls’ Education Programme scholars, teachers, and government officials in all 33 districts.
The campaign’s main objective is to create momentum around the importance of girls’ education in communities to ensure girls go back to schools and continue their education, prepare children, parents/caregivers, and teachers for school reopening (school preparedness), a press release said.
RtR organised student well-being workshops with life-skills trained teachers to support children once they come back to school in all the five districts of custom project districts.
Sourav Banerjee, Country Director, Room to Read India, said – “Working with nearly 10,000 girls across 86 schools in Telangana, Room to Read’s #Harkadambetikesang: Leadership ki Tarang received solidarity from people across 33 districts including 250+ govt officials and 159 teachers for all the campaign initiatives.”
