Hyderabad: Swift action by a Railway Protection Force (RPF) constable saved a woman passenger from a life-threatening accident at Charlapalli railway station.
The incident occurred on Thursday when the passenger, who had got down from the Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) Express to buy some food at a stall on Platform No.4, hurriedly ran towards the train as it started leaving the station.
She slipped while attempting to board the train and was on the verge of falling between the train and the platform.
P Vijaya, an RPF constable, noticed the passenger and immediately rushed forward, pulling her to safety and averting what could have been a fatal accident.
Senior RPF officials commended the constable’s bravery and assured that he would be rewarded for his quick action.
