Hyderabad: Rs.10K flood assistance to be distributed from Tuesday, says KTR
During the next 10 days, all the MLAs should inspect the situation in the rain-affected areas and monitor relief and rescue operations, the Minister said.
Hyderabad: Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao has said the Rs.10,000 financial assistance for rain and flood affected families, announced by Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao, will be distributed from Tuesday at their doorstep in the GHMC limits and adjoining areas.
The Chief Minister had also stated that the Government would extend more support, if needed, and that the relief should reach each of the affected family or person, Rao tweeted on Tuesday.
“During this crisis, I appeal to all MLAs, corporators, RWAs, NGOs and other public representatives to assist the government in ensuring the assistance reaches the needy,” he tweeted.

Earlier, the Minister held a meeting with all the MLAs from the GHMC limits along with Mayor Bonthu Rammohan and Deputy Mayor Baba Fasiuddin.
During the next 10 days, all the MLAs should inspect the situation in the rain-affected areas and monitor relief and rescue operations, the Minister said.
He specifically instructed MLAs and corporators to visit the relief camps set up by GHMC and to monitor the proceedings. If required, the MLAs should initiate measures for expediting the relief works, Rao said.
The MLAs and Corporators have to constantly make inspections at field level and infuse confidence among the people, he said.
Meanwhile, all the MLAs and MLCs from GHMC have decided to contribute their two months’ salary to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
On the other hand, EVDM Director Viswajit Kampati said there was a possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall over the entire city from around 12.30 pm. Citizens were requested to stay indoors and take precautions. DRF teams were alerted and posted on the field.
