Hyderabad: The RTC Hospital at Tarnaka will be upgraded into a super-speciality hospital in a phased manner, said Managing Director, RTC, V C Sajjanar who inaugurated a 20-bed ICU and emergency facilities on Monday.
Sajjanar said that the hospital has scope to be upgraded into a tertiary care medical facility with proper planning and implementation. In due course of time, a catheterisation lab and diagnostic laboratory will be established in the hospital before March, 2022.
At present, the 200-bed RTC Hospital has a full-fledged radiology lab, ECG, dialysis unit with four beds and a 24/7 pharmacy apart from general surgery, obstetrics, gynaecology, orthopaedics, paediatrics, ENT, dental, dermatology and ophthalmology with 30 medical officers, 70 paramedical staff and 33 non-clinical staff.
Director of Public Health (DPH) Dr G Srinivasa Rao, who was the special guest at the event, said that exclusive Covid centre would be started at the hospital soon. Another chief guest Baji Reddy Goverdhan, Chairman of TSRTC, said that several passengers have started opting for TSRTC again, and urged all the employees to use the upgraded facilities at the hospital.
