Hyderabad: Utilising the advanced technology to connect with people of all age groups, the Salar Jung Museum is launching an audio guide app for history aficionados.

To be launched on October 18 at the museum’s central building by Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary, Industries & Commerce and Information Technology Departments, and A Nagender Reddy, Director, Salar Jung Museum, the app is powered by HopOn India.

The museum houses an eclectic collection of 46,000 objects from traditional attire and miniature paintings to sculptures and carpets to toys, furniture and clocks. The collection comes from the illustrious Salar Jung family. Visitors who are curious about the stories behind the artefacts can listen to the history behind each item on the phones, during the tour.

The visitor will get access to the recordings on the Salar Jung Museum audio guide app for free once they buy the ticket at the counter. After downloading the app they will have to enter the code provided for the same to start the audio tour.
