Hyderabad: The GHMC will conduct a special sanitation drive across the city from August 21 to 25.
With the IMD forecasting minimal rainfall in the coming days, the civic body has decided to use this window to clear accumulated garbage, construction debris, and legacy waste, GHMC Commissioner RV Karnan said.
As part of the drive, road safety measures are also being intensified. Karnan said damaged catch pits and manholes are being repaired to ease commuter inconvenience during the monsoon.
Of the 11,741 potholes identified so far, 8,330 have been repaired. Additionally, 434 catch pits have been fixed and 232 new covers installed where needed.
Karnan said efforts are underway to complete road repairs by August 25, with special arrangements to ensure smooth movement during Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations.
