Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force (South) caught three persons who were organising satta betting and seized Rs.27,200 from them.
Acting on a tip off, the police caught Mohd Omer, a fruit vendor and resident of Edi Bazaar along with Nisar Ahmed, collection incharge and Mohd Raheem, a punter. Ten other persons, including one Mohd Amer, also an organizer, were absconding.
According to the police, Omer and Amer, both brothers were organizing online satta betting along with one Meeraj of Nanded on a commission basis.
“They lured auto drivers, pan shop owners, vegetable and fruit vendors to place bets every day. Many of them regularly lost their hard-earned money,” Inspector (Task Force) S Raghavendra said.
