Hyderabad school shocker: Class XII student delivers baby, throws newborn to death
A Class XII student at a Telangana Minority Residential School in Golconda allegedly delivered a baby on campus and threw the newborn from the second floor, leading to its death.
Hyderabad: In a shocking incident a class XII student allegedly delivered a baby inside a residential school campus and subsequently threw the newborn from the second floor of the building, resulting in the infant’s death.
According to police, the incident occurred at a residential school run by the Telangana Minority Residential Educational Institution Society (TMREIS) in Golconda. The incident came to light on Tuesday after the school staff noticed a newborn lying on the ground outside the school building and immediately alerted the police.
A police team rushed to the scene and initiated an investigation. During the inquiry, police officers examined CCTV footage from the campus, which reportedly helped them identify an 18-year-old student as the suspected mother of the child.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the student was around eight months pregnant. Police suspect that she delivered the baby within the school premises before allegedly smothering it and throwing the newborn from the second floor. The infant sustained severe injuries in the fall and died on the spot.
The body was shifted to a government hospital for postmortem examination. Forensic experts also visited the scene and collected evidence as part of the investigation.
Police have registered a case and are continuing their probe. The police are examining the circumstances that led to the student’s pregnancy, the identity of the child’s father, and whether any other individuals were aware of the pregnancy or played a role in the incident.
It is suspected that the girl was in a relationship with a relative. Further investigation is underway.
