Hyderabad: A local court in LB Nagar on Thursday sentenced a man to four years of rigorous imprisonment in an SC/ST Atrocities Act case booked against him at Jawaharnagar in 2015. The court also imposed a fine of Rs.5,000 on him.
The convicted person was M Venkateshwara Rao (51), a government school teacher from Kakatiya Nagar in Neredmet.

In August 2015, Venkateshwara Rao abused one S Mahesh Kumar in the name of caste, when the latter questioned Rao for constructing the compound of his plot by occupying a portion that belonged to Mahesh Kumar. Based on a complaint, the Jawaharnagar police booked a case and arrested him.
