Hyderabad scientist wins IEI Young Engineer award 2025
Dr Vineet Aniya, Principal Scientist at IICT Hyderabad, has received the IEI Young Engineer Award 2025 for his work in sustainable process development, biodegradable polymers, and waste plastic recycling. He has also developed several environmentally friendly technologies and received multiple national awards.
IICT’s Dr Vineet Aniya received the award during the 40th National Convention of Chemical Engineers, held on December 6-7, 2025, at Engineers Bhawan, Chandigarh.
Hyderabad: Principal Scientist at Chemical Engineering and Process Technology (CE&PT) department of Hyderabad-based Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, Dr Vineet Aniya, has been awarded the Institution of Engineers (India) (IEI) Young Engineer award for the year 2025.
The IICT scientist has received the award during the 40th National Convention of Chemical Engineers, held on December 6-7, 2025, at Engineers Bhawan, Chandigarh.
Dr Vineet Aniya has received the award for his contributions in the areas of sustainable process and material development, reactor design and scale-up for industrially and environmentally sustainable technologies.
Dr Aniya’s work focuses on the development of biodegradable/compostable polymers from renewable resources, as well as waste plastic depolymerisation to value-added chemicals for circular economy.
Dr Aniya’s team has successfully transferred technology for compostable carry bags, nanocellulose from MCC, bio-based sanitary pad pulps, and green plasticiser from PET waste.
He is a recipient of several prestigious awards, such as INEA Young Associate (2024), PECFAR by IGSTC (2024), CII 3R Award (2023), Telangana State Innovation Award (2022), Young Scientist and Technologist-DST (2021), among others.
