Hyderabad: SCR arrests 40 persons for stone pelting, placing objects on tracks

Hyderabad: The South Central Railway (SCR) has intensified its crackdown on anti-social activities, arresting 33 people for stone-pelting on trains and seven others for placing foreign objects on railway tracks so far this year.
According to SCR officials, between January 1 and August 31, a total of 54 stone-pelting incidents were reported across the zone. Of these, 30 cases were solved and the accused arrested. Similarly, eight cases of track obstruction were reported, of which six have been solved. All cases are currently under trial in courts.
SCR General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava urged citizens to refrain from such acts, stressing the grave risks posed to passenger safety and national property.
He appealed to parents to counsel their children and advised the public to report offenders by calling 139.
