Hyderabad: SCR GM inspects Lallaguda carriage workshop

Hyderabad: The South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager, Gajanan Mallya, undertook the annual inspection of the carriage workshop, Lallaguda, on Tuesday. He was accompanied by officials, including J K Jain, Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer and Prasoon Chakraborty, Carriage Workshop Manager, throughout the inspection.

Some of the activities undertaken at the Lallaguda workshop include periodic overhauling (POH) of various types of coaches which is an important maintenance activity closely associated with the safe operation and longer life of the coaches. The GM inspected the maintenance and repair units at the workshop and interacted with the staff. He also inaugurated various facilities at the workshop including the power car service, Electric Multiple Unit (EMU), electrics testing room, wheelset washing plant and welding shop.


He complimented the team of officials and staff for the excellent quality of work is maintained and expressed his appreciation for adopting new technology to upgrade working skills. Mallya also planted saplings at the workshop to promote a green environment.
