Hyderabad: SCR registers best ever revenue in the first quarter of current FY
The South Central Railway recorded its highest-ever revenue of Rs 5,219 crore in April–June 2025, driven by robust freight and passenger earnings. The zone also achieved record freight loading of 37.41 million tonnes and operated 865 special trains

Hyderabad: The South Central Railway (SCR) registered its best-ever revenue performance during the first three months of the current financial year.
The zone recorded Rs 5,219 crore in gross originating revenue during the period from April to June 2025, which is 1.2 per cent more than the previous best of Rs 5,156 crore registered during 2024-25, a press release said.
This was backed by originating passenger revenue of Rs 1,485.21 crore and freight revenue of Rs 3,457.33 crore during the period. Similarly, the zone achieved its highest-ever freight loading of 37.41 million tonnes (MT), which is 4 per cent higher than the previous best of 35.89 MT loaded in 2024-25.
On the other hand, SCR operated 865 trips of special trains, carrying 11.18 lakh passengers during the first quarter of the current fiscal. In terms of passenger revenue, the zone achieved Rs 1,485.21 crore during this period, which is 2 per cent more than the previous year’s figure of Rs 1,455.15 crore.
