Hyderabad: Cracking the whip on illegal constructions in the city, five Special Task Force (STF) teams at the zonal level demolished seven unauthorised constructions on Tuesday.

The illegal constructions razed were built in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) LB Nagar zone, according to officials.

The STF teams were constituted under the provisions granted in the Telangana State Building Permission Approval and Self-Certification (TS-bPASS) Act.

Each STF is being headed by a GHMC zonal Commissioner along with a law and order DCP, a Superintendent Engineer and a Deputy Commissioner/ Joint Commissioner. Of the existing six zones under GHMC, each zone has an exclusive STF to monitor and act against structures that are deviating from the sanctioned building plan, senior GHMC officials informed.
