Hyderabad: Several trees pruned on Tank Bund amid summer

Hyderabad: Decades-old trees were pruned by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) urban biodiversity wing on Saturday. The GHMC workers pruned around a half-dozen trees, citing tree branches became a hurdle for streetlights on Tank Bund as a reason.

Pruning began at 6.30 am onwards with men and machines. The trees mainly located on the Tank Bund stretch on the side opposite to Patton Tank, were pruned. In fact, the civic body’s decision during scorching summer, raised eyebrows due to loss of shade on the Bund. The work to prune the trees and remove the branches and leaves went on for some time today.
