Hyderabad: As part of its monthly programme, the South Indian Cultural Association (SICA) organised a Carnatic concert by young singing duo Anahita and Apoorva. Both the singers are getting trained under Chitraveena maestro Vidwan Ravikiran. The vocalists were supported by violinist Sai Rakshit, on mrudangam by P Sairam, Chandrasekhara Sarma on ghatam and Sahana on Thambura.
The duo sang Bhairavi Raga Alapana as main item and sang Bala Gopala Palayasumam a Dikshitar Kriti set to Adi thalam. In the second half they sang Muddhugare Yashoda a Kuranji Raga Keerthana of Annamacharya and concluded the concert with a Thillana in Kunthala Varali composed by Balamurali Krishna.
N Rajasekhar, secretary, Dr K V Ramana, Joint Secretary and Sudhindra Kumar, treasurer of SICA conducted the proceedings of the programme.
