Hyderabad sidelined again as BCCI announces 2025 international cricket fixtures

Despite earlier plans, Hyderabad has been excluded from BCCI’s updated 2025 international fixtures. Neither men's nor women's matches nor A-team games will be hosted in the city, marking another missed opportunity for the cricket-loving Hyderabad crowd.

Hyderabad: Hyderabad doesn’t feature in any of the international fixtures announced by the Board of Control for Cricket In India (BCCI) featuring West Indies and South Africa teams for year 2025.

It may be mentioned here that Hyderabad was originally scheduled to host the 2025 IPL Qualifier 1 and Qualifier 2 but missed out in the re-scheduled business end of the IPL

Though the BCCI is not known to give any official reason for any venue not hosting the international fixtures, it is anybody’s guess why Hyderabad doesn’t figure yet again for the major international
fixtures.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the updated schedule for the international home season and South Africa A tour of India for 2025.

Team India (Senior Men) will be facing West Indies and South Africa across Test matches, One-Day Internationals (ODIs), and Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) at home, with the IDFC First Bank Test series against West Indies starting on 2nd October 2025 in Ahmedabad. The 2nd Test against West Indies, originally slated for Kolkata, will now be held at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. Meanwhile, the 1st Test against South Africa, starting November 14, 2025, has been shifted from New Delhi to Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Due to the revamping of the outfield and pitches at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, the IDFC First Bank ODI Series between Team India (Senior Women) and Australia Women has been moved from Chennai. The first two ODIs will now take place at the New PCA stadium in New Chandigarh, while the third and final ODI will be held at the Arun Jaitley stadium in New Delhi.

The South Africa Men’s A Team will face India A in two multi-day matches and three one-day games, starting October 30, 2025. While the two multi-day matches will continue to be held at the BCCI Centre of Excellence (COE) in Bengaluru, the three one-day games have been moved from M. Chinnaswamy Stadium to the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot.
