Hyderabad: Six arrested in Miyapur for stealing mobile phones from auto passengers
Miyapur police arrested six individuals involved in mobile phone theft from sharing auto passengers. The gang stole phones and money by diverting victims’ attention. Police recovered 20 mobiles, and most members were found to have prior criminal records
Hyderabad: The Miyapur police arrested six persons who are allegedly involved in theft of mobile phones. The police recovered 20 mobile phones from them.
The gang targeted passengers who travelled in sharing auto rickshaws in city outskirts. “The gang members would accommodate a passenger in the auto and, while on the move, would steal money and mobile phones by diverting the attention of the victim,” said ACP Miyapur, Ch Y Srinivas Kumar.
On a complaint, the police tracked them down and arrested them. Most of the gang members have previous criminal histories.
