Hyderabad: Six persons, including two juveniles, were apprehended by the Dabeerpura Police in connection with the death of a 19-year-old student at Chanchalguda.
Mohd Adnan, a resident of Farathnagar in Dabeerpura, was attacked by a group of youngsters at Chanchalguda on Sunday night. He died while undergoing treatment at Osmania General Hospital on Tuesday morning.
Those apprehended were identified as Syed Khaja Moinuddin (19), Syed Najeeb (19), Syed Mustafa (18), Abdullah (19) and two juveniles.
Gajarao Bhupal, DCP (South) said on Sunday evening, the six persons had gone to confront one Syed Abbas over some comments he had made about Abdullah. Adnan had intervened and came under attack from Abdullah and others. He collapsed on the spot and was rushed to hospital, where he died on Tuesday morning, the DCP said.
The police have booked a case under Sections 304 (II), 341, 506 r/w 149 of the IPC, Section 3(1) of the Epidemic Diseases Act and Section 51(b) of the Disaster Management Act against the six suspects. All six were produced before the court.
