Hyderabad: Skeletal remains found in locked house in Nampally; Police launches probe
Human skeletal remains were found in a locked house near Nampally market, Hyderabad, on Monday. The house had reportedly been shut for over seven years. Police have launched an investigation and are yet to confirm the identity or cause of death.
Hyderabad: A simple game of cricket in the busy Nampally market area took a chilling turn when the ball fell into an abandoned house, which led a curious teenager to a shocking discovery, the skeletal remains of a human body.
The youngster went into the abandoned house, spotted a human skeleton and decided to take pictures and upload them on social media, which promptly went viral. He also alerted the local residents and police.
The viral video depicted the skeletal remains, lying in the house amidst utensils, possibly in the kitchen.
The police team swiftly reached the spot and forcibly opened the door and found the skeletal remains inside the house. Later, the CLUES team visited and collected samples.
South-West Zone DCP Chandramohan visited the spot and enquired details from the investigation officials.
Preliminary investigation indicated that the remains could be of one Muneer Khan, the house owner who was living alone since his son was staying elsewhere. As there were no signs of struggle or blood marks, they suspect it to be a natural death.
The Habeebnagar police are investigating. It was yet to be known whether the skeletal remains would be sent to the hospital for autopsy and preservation.
The police said more details will be known after the victim’s family arrives and is questioned.
