Hyderabad: Special sanitation drive in all govt educational institutes

A total of 11 activities have to be taken up as a part of the special sanitation drive.

Hyderabad: With the educational institutions set to open from September 1, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) officials have been instructed to take up special sanitation drives in all the government educational institutions before August 30.

The GHMC Commissioner DS Lokesh Kumar instructed the Zonal and Deputy Commissioners for strict compliance of the instructions in coordination with Mandal Educational Officers.

A total of 11 activities have to be taken up as a part of the special sanitation drive. Apart from ensuring hygiene, the officials were asked to ensure that disinfecting the premises and spraying activities to prevent flies were taken up.

The GHMC officials were also instructed to clear all the places which were prone to mosquito breeding and take up repair works of drinking water taps wherever required. As a part of the exercise, GHMC deputy commissioners should submit a daily report of the activities taken up in their jurisdiction to their respective Zonal Commissioners.
