Hyderabad: A proposal to construct an indoor sports complex in NBT Nagar, Banjara Hills with Rs 5.9 crore was approved by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Standing Committee here on Wednesday. A total of 44 agendas/proposals, which include construction of the sports complex, were placed before the committee and out of them, 40 were approved.

Among other things, the development of a crematorium in Banjara Hills ward with Rs 2.2 crore, proposals pertaining to road widening and junction improvements at different locations, were approved.


Some stretches where road widening and junction improvements were approved are Khajaguda Main road-Urdu University, Jama Masjid Chowk-Laad Bazar and Uppal Junction-Mukkaram Hotel in Amberpet.

Meanwhile, proposals of Road Development Plan (RDP) for Botanical Garden to Kothaguda Main and Teegala Kunata to Tadbun Labour Adda and Calvary Temple to Hafeezpet Manjeera Pipeline Road were also approved.

The Standing Committee was chaired by Mayor G Vijaya Laxmi in the presence of GHMC Commissioner DS Lokesh Kumar and corporators who are Standing Committee Members.
