Hyderabad:  A minor stampede-like situation occurred during the pre-release event of the film ‘Toxic’ at Malla Reddy University in Gundlapochampally, Medchal, on Saturday night.

The event, attended by actor Yash and MLA C Malla Reddy, drew a large number of students and fans.

While Yash was addressing the gathering, students surged forward amid loud cheers to catch a glimpse of the actor, leading to a brief commotion and crowding.

Unable to withstand the pressure of the gathering, a floodlight pole and heavy speaker boxes reportedly fell at the venue. Several students sustained injuries to their hands and legs, while two youths suffered serious injuries.

The injured were immediately shifted by ambulance to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The incident created tension at the venue for some time, even as organisers and security personnel attempted to control the crowd.
