Hyderabad: What could large enterprises like Adani Wilmar, Swiggy and JSW have in common? They all use the same HR technology platform that has been developed by three Hyderabad-based entrepreneurs. Darwinbox, which is a city-based HR technology startup have served over 600-plus clients since 2016 and has over 10 lakh users on its platform.

The startup was founded by three techies Chaitanya Peddi, Jayant Paleti and Rohit Chennamaneni who were working for large corporates before rolling out Darwinbox. While working for companies like McKinsey and EY, these three first-time entrepreneurs realised that their human resource management system was a manual job rather than making processes that can be automated.

“So, we thought of using our expertise in this field and develop something that can help in automation of the whole HR process. That is how Darwinbox came into being and now it takes care of the entire ‘hiring to retiring’ cycle needs of employees,” Chennamaneni informed Telangana Today. The company operates in the same segment as the Oracles and SAPs of the world operate in and is the only Indian company to give a tough competition to these global giants.

Currently focused on large enterprises that have an employee base of more than 500 and even serving companies that have more than one lakh employees, the startup has seen its revenue grow by 300 per cent in the last two years. Recently, the startup received Series C funding by Salesforce of $15 million.

“During the pandemic, we introduced a new range of solutions that include virtual ID card, visitor management system and a paperless on-boarding solution along with developing products that help in building employee engagement in the company. We are seeing a rapid growth in adoption of our solution among larger enterprises in the last two years and are hopeful that under penetrated sectors like banking and government institutions will also open their doors for us,” says Chennamaneni.

The company has an overall employee base of 750 people and is looking to hire more engineers in the coming months.
