Hyderabad surgeon Dr Honavar tops India’s career-long impact list in Ophthalmology
Hyderabad-based eye surgeon Dr Santosh G Honavar has been ranked among the top 2 per cent of global researchers in the 2024 Stanford–Elsevier list. For the fifth time, he topped India's ophthalmology list and also led the career-long research impact rankings
Hyderabad: Hyderabad-based senior ophthalmic surgeon Dr Santosh G Honavar has emerged as top-ranked Ophthalmology researcher from India in the Stanford University and Elsevier top 2 per cent researchers list.
This is for the fifth consecutive year that Dr Honavar, who is Director, Ophthalmic Plastic Surgery and Ocular Oncology at Centre for Sight Eye Hospital, has secured the position in the annual impact rankings and, for the first time, has also topped the career-long impact ranking in Ophthalmology from India, a press release said.
Dr Honavar, who is Honourary Secretary of the All-India Ophthalmological Society (AIOS), is on top of the ranks that feature the top 2 per cent of researchers worldwide, based on the influence and impact of their work, both career-long and during the year 2024.
