Hyderabad: Teacher dies by suicide in Adibatla after alleged harassment
A 29-year-old teacher in Adibatla died by suicide after allegedly facing sexual harassment by two male colleagues. She was found hanging at her home in Turkayamjal. Police have registered a case against the accused and started an investigation
Hyderabad: A teacher died by suicide at a school in Adibatla on Saturday night, allegedly due to sexual harassment by two of her colleagues.
According to the police, the woman, aged 29 years, worked as a science teacher in a private school at Adibatla and stayed at Turkayamjal. She was a native of Assam.
The family members of the woman told the police that two teachers, Ibrahim and Junaid, who worked at the same institution, were allegedly harassing the woman for a few weeks. “Unable to bear the harassment, the woman slipped into depression and ended her life by hanging herself from the ceiling fan in her house,” said Adibatla sub-inspector, N Noelraj.
A case is registered against Ibrahim and Junaid and is under investigation.
