Hyderabad techie and poet Sana Mahmood honoured with SIWAA 2026 Changemaker award
Hyderabad-based IT professional and Urdu poet Sana Mahmood has been honoured with the South India Women Achievement Award 2026 in the Changemaker category at a ceremony in Bengaluru.

Hyderabad: The city-based IT professional, author and Urdu poet Sana Mahmood has been conferred with the prestigious South India Women Achievement Award (SIWAA) 2026 in the Changemaker category, recognizing her contribution to literature, art, culture and for inspiring women to pursue their passions beyond conventional career boundaries.
The award was presented at the SIWAA 2026 ceremony held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre Auditorium, Bengaluru.
While working as a project manager in the IT industry, Sana has established herself as a published author, Urdu poet, stage performer and advocate for art and culture. She is also the recipient of the Golden Wings Book Award 2026 for her literary contribution through her book Kuch Alfaaz, a collection of poetry that celebrates emotions, resilience and human relationships.
“These awards are not just a personal honour, they reaffirm my belief that passion and profession can coexist,” she said.
