Hyderabad: Techie held for harassing woman on Instagram

Hyderabad: The Rachakonda cybercrime police arrested a techie on charges of harassing a woman on Instagram on Thursday.

The arrested person was T Sai Krishna (22), a system engineer trainee with a software firm in Madhapur and a resident of Khammam district. According to the police, Sai Krishna had earlier done a nude video call chat with an unidentified user on Instagram. Since then, wanting to repeat it, he created a fake profile on Instagram and began sending derogatory message and obscene content to women.

“He searched for female profiles and randomly sent abusive message and vulgar content,” an official said, adding that one victim approached the Rachakonda cybercrime police, who booked a case and with the help of technical evidence, identified and nabbed him from his residence in Khammam.

He was brought to Hyderabad, where he was produced before court and remanded in judicial custody.
