Hyderabad: A software professional from Kondapur was allegedly cheated to the tune of Rs 93.35 lakh by two individuals who had promised to make a film based on his story, with him as the hero and co-producer.
According to a complaint filed by Akash Kumar Verma (45), he was introduced to a woman identified as Sirichandhana alias Madhi in March 2022 through friends, and later to Sai Bolla alias Sai Chaudhary. Sai had allegedly claimed to have strong links with top film producers and directors.
Believing their assurances, the complainant transferred money to Sai’s bank account between February 2023 and May 2025 for alleged film-related expenses, including Film Chamber membership.
When he refused to pay additional amounts, Sai reportedly removed him from the supposed project and allegedly issued threats when Verma demanded his money back.
Based on the complaint, the Gachibowli Police registered a case and are investigating.
