Hyderabad: Teen dies after slipping into quarry pit at Ammuguda

A 17-year-old boy, Ritwik Reddy, died after slipping into a water-filled quarry pit at Ammuguda while descending a hill after prayers. A young woman attempting to rescue him suffered a leg fracture. Trimulgherry police have registered a case.

Hyderabad: In a tragic incident, a teenage boy lost his life after accidentally falling into a quarry pit filled with water at Ammuguda, under the Trimulgherry police station, which is located in Secunderabad. According to the police, four childhood friends, along with a young woman they had met online, had gone to visit the Kohe Imam-e-Zamin dargah at Ammuguda, which is located on a hill, on Saturday.

While descending the hillocks after offering prayers, one of them, identified as Ritwik Reddy (17), reportedly slipped and fell into a nearby quarry pit.


He suffered multiple grievous injuries and died on the spot due to the impact. In a desperate attempt to save him, the young woman suffered a leg fracture.

On receiving information, the Trimulgherry police reached the spot and took up the investigation. Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the incident.
